Dr. Nevin Halıcı was born in Konya in 1941. She received her primary and secondary education in Konya and went on in 1975 to attend the Ankara Gazi University, where she completed the social sc
iences course in nutrition.While pursuing a career as a cookery teacher, her particular interest in folklore led her to start working on the compilation of recipes connected with this subject.
